Engines are warming up ahead of the regional and national finals of the FIRST® LEGO® League and the scrimmage event of the FIRST® Tech Challenge, organized by the Artù Association in collaboration with FIRST LEGO League Italy!
FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge – Northwest Qualifier in Borgonovo Val Tidone
On March 4 and 5, two regional qualifiers for the Northwest of the FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge will be staged at Institute A. Volta two regional qualifiers for the Northwest of the FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge. About 300 young people will compete on the theme 2023, or SUPERPOWERED®: How can we make energy production, transportation, and use more efficient and sustainable?
During the evening of Saturday, March 4, all participants will be invited to a convivial evening with music, role-playing and board games, and dinner with typical delicacies from the Piacenza area!
The following week we will move to Piacenza for the National Final of the FIRST LEGO League Challenge and for the first international event in Italy of the FIRST Tech Challenge. On Saturday, March 11 and Sunday, March 12 , the spaces of the Piacenza Expo exhibition center will host about 45 teams, 500 kids from all over Italy and the world who will compete in science and robotics. All events will be open to the public. A simultaneous special Piacenza Bricks edition with the display of an energy-themed LEGO diorama.
During the week March 6-10 at theSant’Ilario Auditorium in Piacenza and at the event venue. we will also organize a series of workshops to introduce kids and families to the topic of robotics.
Friday, March 10 from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at St. Hilary Auditorium will be held at theFIRST® LEGO League Explore national event with public display of the work done by 15 teams (10 of them from Piacenza), and at 5 p.m. the official award ceremony for all participants will take place.
Teams, and visitors, will have the opportunity to stay overnight near the event venue: in cooperation with Apical we are providing overnight accommodation and transportation packages for both events!

The venues for the regional and national finals of the FIRST® LEGO® League are organized in an area rich in history, culture and food and wine delicacies!
In Borgonovo Val Tidone you can visit the Municipal Fortress and the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria Assunta, a true gem of Romanesque art. You can also venture into the beautiful surrounding hills, which have a great wine-growing vocation. In Piacenza, don’t miss a visit to Piazza Cavalli, the beating heart of the city, and the imposing Duomo.
Piacenza and its province are located in the heart of Emilia’s Food Valley: typical delicacies such as Salumi Piacentini DOP (coppa, salami, pancetta), Val Tidone’s batarò, Ortrugo and Malvasia wines, but also delicious first courses such as tortelli, pisarei and anolini in brodo await you!
